White Funeral Home Evansdale – Ronald Edward Neuendorf, 68 years old of Evansdale, Iowa, died of a sudden illness, Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at the Buchanan County Health Center. He was born August 25, 1944, at Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Evert William Edward Neuendorf and Eva May (Lee) Neuendorf. Ron graduated from Waterloo West High School with the class of 1962. Following graduation he served in the US Navy, and later worked at John Deere in Waterloo, until his retirement in 1998. On May 31, 1969, he was united in marriage to Margaret Mae Federspiel at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raymond, Iowa. Ronald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and formerly a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, Iowa. He was also a member of the Evansdale AmVets Post #31. Ronald is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret “Peg” Neuendorf of Evansdale; 2 daughters, Lanette (Donald) Bloes and Brenda (David) Michael both of Jesup; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Harlan (Kimberly) Neuendorf of Waterloo, IA, Rick (Cherrie) Neuendorf of Montrose, CO; and 2 sisters, Wilma Ehrhardt of Cedar Falls, IA, and Ruth Keathley of Sainte Genevieve, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, August 9, 2013, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with Fr. Scott F. Boone as Celebrant. Music will be by Monica Bengston, organist, Todd Rohlfsen, soloist and the St. Athanasius Choir. Burial will be at St. Athanasius Cemetery, Jesup, with Military Rites conducted by Pump-Scheer American Legion Post 342 of Jesup. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Friday at the church. Memorials will be directed to the family. |
