White Funeral Home Cedar Falls – Kenneth N. Greene, 82 years old, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at his home. He was born on September 26, 1930, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Frederick Leland and Irene (Faulkner) Greene. He attended school in Independence. On July 22, 1951, he and the former Mary Anna Basquin were married in Independence. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. For 28 years, Mr. Greene was a metal fabricator at Hawkeye Steel in Waterloo. He retired in 1989. He was a member of the Am Vets and the V.F.W. in Waterloo. Mr. Green was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Anytime there was a game on, you could surely guarantee that he was in front of his television cheering them on. Mr. Greene is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Anna, 4 sons, David Greene of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Norman Greene and Jeffrey Greene, both of Waterloo, Iowa, and Steven (LeAnn) Greene of Nashua, Iowa. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and 1 brother, Robert Greene of Waterloo, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Iowa. White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements. |
