Jesup – Deea J. Lauritzen, 35 years old of Jesup, IA, died Friday, July 5, 2013, from injuries suffered in a work accident Friday in Waterloo. She was born February 16, 1978, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Dean Roger Lauritzen and Cynthia Dee (Carrier) Lauritzen. After receiving her high school diploma, she began working for Burger King and became a manager at the LaPorte Road location in Waterloo. She has worked the past five years for Stickfort Construction. Deea was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Waterloo, where she was active in the childrens program as a Pee Wee church instructor and enjoyed singing. She enjoyed spending time with family and being a aunt to her nieces and nephews. Deea had that unforgettable smile that emulated the love of Christ.

Deea is survived by her mother, Cynthia Lauritzen of Jesup, five brothers, Robert (Mary) Lauritzen of Ghana, Africa; Rick (Beth) Lauritzen of Campbellsville, KY; Ryan (Tammy) Lauritzen of Oelwein, IA; Ronn (Kim) Lauritzen of Jesup, IA; Reese (Sarah) Lauritzen of Waterloo, IA; five sisters, Deana (Shane) Thorpe of Clover, SC; Dana (Bryan) McCombs of Dysart, IA; Dane’e Velez of Marion, IA; Darcy Lauritzen of Jesup, IA; and Deedra (Philip) Fisher of Campbellsville, KY; many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her maternal grandfather, Charles Carrier of Houston, MN. Deea is preceded in death by her father (June 15, 2012) and one brother, Charles Roger Lauritzen in infancy.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, July 10th at Jesup Bible Fellowship, Jesup, IA. Burial will be at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, IA. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour before services Wednesday all at Jesup Bible Fellowship.
