White Funeral Home Waterloo – James R. Anderson, 85 years old of rural Waterloo, IA died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, IA. He was born September 19, 1927 on the family farm in Black Hawk County, IA, the son of William Walker Anderson and Stella Annetta (McMillin) Anderson. He graduated from Dunkerton High School with the class of 1945. On July 1, 1946, He and the former Hazel Marie Scott were united in marriage at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, IA. Mr. Anderson was an agricultural farmer all of his life and his operation included dairy cattle. He was an active church member and a proud Sunday school teacher for 57 years. Mr. Anderson is survived by two sons, Thomas (Wendy) Anderson of Waverly, MN and Mark (Lisa) Anderson of rural Waterloo; also 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a good friend, Wanda McDowell of Waterloo. In additional to his parents, his wife Hazel (1997); three sons, John S. Anderson (1969), David S. Anderson (1987), Daniel J. Anderson (2010); and two brothers, William Anderson and Donald Anderson, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. – Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4031 La Fayette Road, Evansdale, IA, with Larry Fuson officiating and assisted by Rev. Dr. Julie Schuett. Burial will be at Old Barclay Cemetery, rural Jesup, IA. Casket Bearers will be John Anderson, Sean Anderson, Eric Anderson, Caitlin Anderson, Ben Anderson, Nick Anderson, Hunter Anderson and Carson Anderson. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Memorials will be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice. |
