Jesup – Penny Sue Putnam, 59 years old of Jesup, IA, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Waterloo, IA, from cancer.  She was born February 6, 1954, in Independence, IA, the daughter of Lester Wayne Putnam and Ruby Fern (Dennis)(Gosse) Putnam.  She graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1972.  Penny worked as a Para-Professional for the Jesup Community School District, and especially enjoyed working at the rural Triumph Elementary School.  She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Jesup.

Penny is survived by 3 brothers, Mick (Vicki) Putnam of Jesup, IA, Gary (Ann) Gosse of Sacramento, CA, Darrel (Suzanne) Gosse of Terre Haute, IN.  She is preceded in death by her father in January of 2008 and her mother in March of 2000.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA, with Rev. Jenna Couch officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, IA.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA.  Visitation will continue for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.  Memorials will be directed to the American Lutheran Church in Jesup and to breast cancer research.
