White Funeral Home Independence – Virginia L. “Ginny” Chambers, 63 years old, died of an apparent heart attack at her home on May 31, 2013. She was born on January 15, 1950, in Millville, New Jersey, the daughter of Herbert and Annie Mae (Caldwell) Chambers. She graduated from high school in Millville and then, earned a B.A. degree in psychology. She served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. She worked at several area businesses as a clerk and cashier. Ms. Chambers was a Life Member of the Bechter-Boies V.F.W. Post #2440 and also a member of the Sheehan-Tidball American Legion Post #30, both in Independence, Iowa. She was a past commander of the V.F.W. post. Ms. Chambers is survived by 2 sons, Jerod (Michelle) Beier of Independence, Iowa, and Jayson (Melissa) Beier of Hampshire, England, 4 grandchildren, and 2 sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 nephew. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements. |
