White Funeral Home Jesup – Darlene Jesse, 88 years old of Ridgeway Place, Waterloo, and formerly of rural Jesup, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo. She was born January 14, 1925, Mabel Darlene Anderson, the daughter of Hans Peter Anderson and Mildred Donzella (Nichols) Anderson. She graduated from LaPorte City High School with the class of 1942. On March 12, 1944, she was united in marriage to Virden Russell Jesse at Zion Lutheran Church at Jubilee. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Jubilee and an active member of church and community organizations. Darlene is survived by three sons, Darrell Jesse of Garrison and friend LaVeryl Dlouhy, Warren (Pamela) Jesse of Grimes, Robert (Judith) Jesse of Clive; one daughter, Diane (Randy) Appleton of Blakesburg, IA; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma (Norm) Cohen of Louisville, CO, Karen (Art) Frandsen of Maquoketa, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Virden (June 8, 1990); twin daughters in infancy, Kay and Rae Jesse; one brother, Carl Anderson and one sister Berneice Gavlock. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, April 26, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, Jubilee, rural LaPorte City, IA, with burial at Zion Lutheran – Jubilee Cemetery. Pastor Jenna L. Couch will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA and for an hour before services Friday at the church. Memorials will be directed to Zion Lutheran Church. White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA is in charge of the arrangements. |
