White Funeral Home EVANSDALE – Diana Lee Proctor, 77 years old of Evansdale, IA, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo. She was born July 24, 1935, at Tripoli, IA, the daughter of LaVern Waterman and Elsbeth A. “Elsie” (Spier) Waterman. She graduated from East High School in Waterloo. In 1951, she was united in marriage to Forest Dale Hickman. They later divorced. On December 21, 1986, she was united to James Albert Proctor at the Little Brown Church in Nashua and they have made their home in Evansdale since. Diana worked as office manager at the YWCA in Waterloo for about 12 years and most recently had worked as a court attendant at the Black Hawk County Courthouse the past 15 years. She was a member of Bridge of Hope Church in Waterloo and will be remembered as a generous person who loved spending time with the grandchildren. Mrs. Proctor is survived by her husband, James Proctor of Evansdale; two sons, David (Chris) Hickman of Gladbrook, IA, Dan (Tooley) Hickman of Bagley, MN; one daughter in law, Bobbie Hickman of Jesup, IA; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one step son, James (Sue) Proctor of Mashpee, MA; one step daughter, Lynne (Bill) Johnson of Westminster, VT; 6 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren; one sister, Virginia (Bob) Owens of Mesa, AZ, and one brother, Rick, (Kim) Waterman of Hampton, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Tim Hickman. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Monday, April 29, 2013, at the Grace Reformed Church, 520 Maxwell Street, Waterloo, IA, with burial at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and for an hour before services Monday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
