White Funeral Home Jesup – Kayla Lynn Decker, 21 years old of Waterloo and formerly of Jesup died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo. She was born June 17, 1991, in Waterloo the daughter of Shad Neil Decker and Melinda Sue (Weber) Decker. She graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 2009 and then furthered her education at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo and then at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids where she graduated as a Certified Surgical Technician. At present, Kayla was employed in the surgery department at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. She was a member of Jesup Bible Fellowship in Jesup. While in high school she loved cheerleading and dance. Her fun outgoing personality and beautiful smile will be missed by her loving family and friends. Kayla is survived by her parents, Shad Decker and Melinda “Lyndie” Decker, both of Jesup; brother, Kyle Decker of Jesup; maternal grandparents, Dennis & Charlean Weber, Jesup; paternal grandfather, Louie (Irma Wendt) Decker of Cedar Rapids; paternal grandmother, Ruthe (Roger) Gentry of Sand Point, Idaho; step-grandmother, Sherry Decker of Cedar Rapids; step-great grandmother, Norma Hepler of Evansdale; and special friend, Tad Talaska of Waterloo. Her maternal grandmother, Kay Weber preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Jesup Bible Fellowship, Jesup, with Pastor Matthew A. Perez officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilbertville. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23rd at the White Funeral Home, Jesup where there will be a 7:00 p.m. Scripture Service. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to Jesup Bible Fellowship or to the family. |
