White Funeral Home Gilbertville – Darlene R. Reuter, 85 years old of Jesup, IA, and formerly of Gilbertville, IA, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA. Services will be 10:00 a.m. – Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilbertville. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a Catholic Order of Foresters Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil service at 6:00 p.m., Friday. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and The Bosco System in Gilbertville and to the Cedar Valley Hospice. Darlene was born December 1, 1928, in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the daughter of Harry J. Roth and Martha Catherine (Holbach) Roth. On October 26, 1948, she was united in marriage to Leo Joseph Reuter in Gilbertville. She was a homemaker, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters in Gilbertville. Darlene is survived by five daughters, Joyce (Clifford) Schimmels of Denver, Judy Barkley and special friend Bill Beveridge of Morrison, CO, Mary (Jack) Collins of St. Louis Park, MN, Lou Ann (Kurt) Frush and Joan (Bob) Venem of Jesup; five sons, Leon (Jeanne) Reuter of Gilbert, AZ, John (Linda) Reuter of Jesup, Larry (Debbie) Reuter of Jesup, Roger (Angie) Reuter of Tucson, AZ, Richard (Patricia) Reuter of Jesup; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; three brothers, Robert (Marian) Roth of Jesup, Daniel (Darlene) Roth of Jesup, Michael (Shirley) Roth of Ft. Meyers, FL; two sisters, Margaret Falk of La Porte City, and Annabelle (John) Demuth of Independence. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 2001; her parents; one son, Thomas Reuter in infancy; one daughter, Rose Mary Reuter in infancy; one granddaughter, Kristy Marie Frush and one grandson, Wayne Wesley Collins. |
