Dunkerton – Robert L. Rigdon, Sr., 74 years old of Dunkerton, IA, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA.  He was born August 9, 1938, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Lee R. Rigdon and Leone H. (Holdiman) Rigdon.  He graduated from the Dunkerton High School with the class of 1956.  On November 24, 1957, he was united in marriage to Carol Kay Kroenecke at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo, IA.  A lifelong resident of Dunkerton, Robert worked as a tractor mechanic at John Deere, Product Engineering Center and became a supervisor before retirement in 1993.  He was a former member of UAW local 838 in Waterloo and he also farmed.  Robert was a member of Lord of Harvest Lutheran Church, Fairbank, IA.

Mr. Rigdon is survived by his wife, Carol Rigdon of Dunkerton, two sons, Robert (Cathy) Rigdon, Jr. of Dunkerton, Daniel (Vicki) Rigdon, Sr., of Fairbank, IA; one daughter, Kimberly (Patrick) Ala of Dunkerton; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth (Kathy) Rigdon of Dunkerton; one sister, Marian (Glen) Ponder of Newton, IA; and a sister in law, Cheryl Rigdon of Maryland.  His parents and one brother, Roland Rigdon, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. – Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Lord of the Harvest Lutheran Church, Fairbank, IA, with Pastor Scott Jans officiating.  Music will be by Alex Wright, pianist and Joey Rigdon, soloist.  Honorary Casket Bearers will be Elizabeth Downs, Bobbie Jo Rigdon, Justi Speer, Anne Rigdon, Megan Etringer, Melissa Myers, Makenzee Myers and Brittany Allen-Ala.  Casket bearers will be Zachary Rigdon, Daniel Rigdon, Jr., Drew Speer, Matthew Myers, Michael Cone and John Kroenecke.  Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton, IA.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9^th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
