White Funeral Home Independence - Beverly A. Hughson, 77 years old, of Quasqueton, Iowa, passed away quietly in her sleep with her devoted pets at her side on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Beverly was born on June 13, 1935, to Beatrice Gray and LeRoy Hardman in Oelwein, Iowa. She was the oldest of 16 children. She was united in marriage to Warren Hughson on November 21, 1953. They had four daughters. She worked in several positions for Rockwell Collins until she retired in 1992. She was an EMT with the Quasqueton First Responders where she and her husband served the community. She loved her family, friends, and pets. She enjoyed fishing, swimming, puzzle books, and reading. Her hobbies were quilting, sewing, and wood working. She enjoyed joking around with everyone. She was a member of the Quasqueton Garden Club and the Quasqueton Historical Society. She is survived by her loving and devoted family, Deborah and Lawrence Blockhus of West Union, Londa and Gary Marshall and Wanda and John Thomas, all of Quasqueton, and Anita Hughson of Ladora. Her grandchildren are Tom and Doug Blockhus, Leon Freer, Allyson Yearous, and her great granddaughter is Alexus Freer. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren, granddaughter, Anna Thomas, her parents, Beatrice and LeRoy Hardman, and 3 brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the White Funeral Home in Quasqueton, Iowa, with Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Tom Blockhus, Doug Blockhus, Leon Freer, John Thomas, Gary Marshall, and Lawrence Blockhus will be pall bearers. The family will greet friends for an hour before services. Burial will be at a later date in the Quasqueton Cemetery in Quasqueton, Iowa. |
