Jesup – Rebecca Sue Heyer, 60 years old of Jesup, IA, died from brain cancer, Thursday, December 06, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, IA.  She was born November 26, 1952, in Waterloo, the daughter of Berwyn Charles Wood and Ramona Margaret (Connell) Wood.  She attended Columbus High School in Waterloo and graduated with the class of 1971.  On April 28, 1972, she was united in marriage to Craig Allen Heyer in Waterloo, they later divorced.  Rebecca worked at Allen Hospital as a respiratory therapist and then for the Chicago Central Railroad as a parts manager.  The past 14 years were most fulfilling to her as she enriched the lives of many children and families through her local day care.  She was also an avid volunteer in Jesup spending time at the Jesup school, an active member of the Jesup Booster Club and a longtime member of the Jesup Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Rebecca is survived by one son, Joshua (Denna) Heyer of Grimes, IA; one daughter, Jennifer Heyer of Jesup, IA; three grandchildren, Chandler, Carson and Ella; her father, Berwyn C. Wood of Waterloo, IA; three sisters, Penny (John) Spaulding of Newport, MN, Pam Gonzales of Ypsilanti, MI, Peggy (Jeff) Orvis, of Cedar Falls, IA; one brother, Chip (Ann) Wood of Waterloo, IA.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Ramona Wood and a brother in law, Tom Gonzales.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. – Monday, December 10, 2012, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with Rev. Lynn C. Gardner officiating.  Her cremated remains will be buried at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.  A time of visitation with the family will be from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9^th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA.

Memorials may be directed to Jesup Dollars for Scholars in c/o of Gin Vogel at Farmers State Bank in Jesup, IA or to the Cedar Valley Hospice.

An additional time of remembrance and celebration of Becky's life for the family and friends will be 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8th at the Jesup Golf & Country Club.
