Jesup – Shawna M. Skinner, 34 years old of rural Jesup died Friday, August 3, 2012, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident in Cedar Rapids, IA, Friday evening.  The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. – Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA with an 11:00 a.m. graveside service following at the Littleton Cemetery at Littleton.  Memorials will be directed to the family for Shawna’s children, Nicholas and Marissa.

Shawna Marie Skinner was born February 12, 1978, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of James Carroll Skinner and Pam Kay (Voshell) Skinner.  She attended Jesup Community Schools and later received her GED certification.  She was most recently employed as a waitress.

Shawna is survived by one son, Nicholas Skinner and one daughter, Marissa Skinner, both at home; her parents, James and Pam Skinner of Jesup; two sisters, Angela Truax of Waterloo, Melissa Skinner of Oelwein; one brother, Alfred Skinner of Waterloo; her paternal grandmother, Betty Skinner of Jesup, and maternal grandmother, Lillian Voshell of Independence.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Gene Skinner and maternal grandfather, Alfred Voshell.
