Independence – Judy Kay Price, 68 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence.  She was born on January 25, 1944, in Littleton, Iowa, the daughter of Henry A. and Nela Mildred (Anderson) Neith.  She graduated from high school in Jesup, Iowa, with the Class of 1962.  On May 29, 1965, she and Larry Jess Price were married at the First Methodist Church in Independence.  He preceded her in death in 2011.  Mrs. Price worked several different places as she utilized her talents and skills.  She was working in the food service system at the Independence Community Schools when she retired in 2009.  Mrs. Price was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Independence.  She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school events.  She also enjoyed collector tractor shows and gardening.

Mrs. Price is survived by 1 daughter, Penny (Denis) Sailer of Hiawatha, Iowa, 1 son, Steve (Dannell) Price of Independence, Iowa, 5 grandchildren, and 1 sister, Shirley Buzynski of Fairbank, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 step brothers, and 1 sister.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Independence with Rev. Scott Meador officiating.  Casket Bearers will be Craig Price, Gary Price, Scott Buzynski, Tom Buzynski, Jeff Hayward, and Keith Crawford.  Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery in Independence, Iowa.

White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements.  Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 25^th, at the funeral home.
