Independence – Marian T. Hare, 86 years old of Independence, IA, died Sunday, January 1, 2012, at the Long Term Care unit of the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence.  She was born October 30, 1925, in Independence, IA, the daughter of Ross Newton Fairchild and Pearl (Lowrey) Fairchild.  On January 29, 1944, she was united in marriage to Frank Junior “BUD” Hare at the Presbyterian parsonage in Independence.  Marian was a supervisor at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, IA, where she worked for 24 years.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Independence.

Marian is survived by her husband, Bud of Independence; one daughter, Sharon (Bud) Conrad of Independence; one son, Larry (Pat) Hare of Lewis, CO; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one sister, Viva Hansen of Des Moines, IA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dwayne Fairchild and one sister, Mary Eileen Moore.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. – Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the White Funeral Home, with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, both in Independence.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
