Jesup - Nora Marlene Cousins, 87 years old of Jesup, IA, died surrounded by her family, Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Buchanan County Health Center – Lexington Estates.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. - Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Jesup Bible Fellowship in Jesup.  Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. – Tuesday at Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, IA.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Nora was born November 23, 1936, in Fayette, IA, the daughter of William Evans Rainey and Bertha Mae (Hofer) Rainey.  She graduated from Elgin High School and worked as a cook at several restaurants over the years.  On June 5, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Cousins in Elgin. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in the food service business. After moving to Jesup, Nora attended Jesup Bible Fellowship.

Nora is survived by three daughters, Bobbi Hickman of Jesup, Thelma (Robert) Bjorklund of Leland, IA, Gloria (Randy) Kauffman of Jesup; one son, Michael (Linda) Cousins of Madisonville, TX; 8 grandchildren, Ty, Melissa, Ryan, Seth, Kayla, Matthew, Courtney and Brandon; 12 great grandchildren, Max, Savannah, McKinley, Lily, Leelah, Adeline, Wailen, Olivia, Rhealynn, Layklynn, Eden and Levi; also one brother, Kenneth Rainey of Matteson, IL.  In addition to her husband, Robert who died on May 13, 2005, Nora is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Little Robert; one son in law, Tim Hickman and three sisters, Shirley, Ruth and Barb.
