JESUP - Roger Leonard Fox, 87 years old of Independence, IA, and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, May 19, 2024, at his home.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, May 24, 2024, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with inurnment at a later date in St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Jesup.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services, Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Roger was born March 3, 1937, in Desoto, WI, the son of Donavan Fox and Lucille (Taylor) Fox. He graduated from Desoto High School with the class of 1954. On July 16, 1960, he was united in marriage to Lois Ann Garrett in Lansing, IA. Roger worked as a machinist at John Deere in Waterloo for many years before retirement. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup and a member of United Auto Workers Locals 838 in Waterloo. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.

Roger is survived by his wife, Lois Fox of Independence; three children and their spouses, David (Cheryl) Fox of Waverly, Rebecca (Kendall) Rachuy of Sioux Rapids, IA, Daniel (Marcy) Fox of Rowley, IA; 9 grandchildren, Seth Rachuy, Gabrielle (Kyle) Estel, Erin (Dallas) Heuton, Hannah Fox, Lauren Fox, Dannica Fox, Taylor Fox, Lara Fox, Cody Fox; 2 great granddaughters, Grace Heuton and Jayda Heuton; one brother, Carl (Sue) Fox, Desoto, WI; two sisters, Joyce Yttri, Boscobel, WI, and Donna (Darrell) Meyer, Stoughton, WI.

He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Roger Fox, on December 24, 1982; also, his parents; one brother, Jerry Fox and a Brother-in-law, Lowell Yttri.
