JESUP – Laura Margaret (Kroenecke) Loveland, 91 years old of Jesup, IA, died Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo, IA.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. – Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.  There will be no public visitation prior to the service.  Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA.  Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com

Laura was born November 16, 1931, in Clarinda, IA, the daughter of Emil E. Hintz and Clella O. (Johnson) Hintz.  She graduated from Waterloo East High School.  On December 15, 1950, she was united in marriage to Werner William Kroenecke in Waterloo.  They divorced in 1967.  Laura was a legal secretary at the Beecher Law Firm in Waterloo and later worked at Home Savings & Loan, Norwest Bank and later Wells Fargo as a personal banker.  She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Jesup.  In 1966, she was crowned Mrs. Iowa and went on to participate in national competition.

Laura is survived by one daughter, Susan Dierksen of Harrison, WI; one son, Martin (Sharon) Kroenecke of Jesup; a foster daughter, Carol Smoot of WI; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.  Her parents; three brothers, Robert Hintz, Ernest Hintz, Martin Hintz; one sister, Zeeta Mae Mintz; and one son in law, David Dierksen preceded her in death.
