DUNKERTON – Darlene N. Snyder, 99 years old, formerly of Dunkerton, IA, died August 26, 2022, in Evansville, IN.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. – Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton, IA.

Darlene was born November 30, 1922, north of Dunkerton in Black Hawk County, IA, the daughter of Frank Elias Holdiman and Susan (Reichert) Holdiman.  She graduated from Dunkerton High School with the class of 1941.  On November 12, 1942, she was united in marriage to Blain Roscoe Snyder in Waterloo, IA.  Darlene was a homemaker and mother, but also, worked 20 years as a medical secretary, retiring in 1985 from Dr. Berryhill’s office in Readlyn, IA.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dunkerton.

Darlene is survived by one daughter, Judy (Jerry) Liddle of Newburgh, IN; two sons, Gary (Connie) Snyder of Grand Isle, LA, and Steven (Mary) Snyder of Saginaw, MI; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Blain in 2003; her parents; one granddaughter, Shannon Snyder and two sisters, Ethel Holdiman and Alice West.
