He was born on January 16, 1940, in Independence the son of Russell Merry and Laura Jeanette (Main) Greenley. He graduated from high school in Independence with the Class of 1958. On May 24, 1958, he and the former Shari Ann Frye were married in Independence. She preceded him in death in 1989. On February 9, 1991, he and the former Beth L. Fillmore were married in Independence. Mr. Greenley farmed north of Independence until he retired. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Independence and the Masonic Lodge, and the Model A Club of America. He took part in the local tractorcade every year. He also enjoyed camping, traveling, square dancing, and playing cards. Mr. Greenley is survived by his wife of 31 years, Beth, 2 daughters, Lori (Jim) Draude of Altoona, Iowa, and Wendy (Paul) Territo of Fishers, Indiana, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 1 step son, Doug (Ann) Keller of Roseville, Minnesota, and 1 step granddaughter. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Michael Greenley, 1 step son, Dan Keller, 5 brothers, David Greenley, Oliver Greenley, Russell Greenley, Victor Greenley, and Morris Greenley, and 2 sisters, Jane Riedemann, and Edna Dodge. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at the First Methodist Church in Independence with Rev. Paul Evans officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1st, at the funeral home. A Memorial Fund has been established.
