He was born in Independence on September 17, 1955, the son of James Donald and Marjorie Louise (Gericke) Kimmerle. He graduated from high school in Jesup, Iowa. On July 14, 1979, he and the former Leona June Wendt were married at the First United Methodist Church in Independence. She preceded his in death in 2019. For 42 years he worked for Dunlap Motors in Independence in the body repair department. He loved socializing with friends over coffee in area cafes. Dinners with his family were also very important. He was a NASCAR fan, collected model race cars, and always attended the stock car races in Independence. Mr. Kimmerle is survived by 2 sons, Chris (Nicole) Wilson of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and Mathew Kimmerle of Independence, 1 daughter, Angie (Cody Kuhn) Kimmerle of Waterloo, Iowa, and 6 grandchildren, Corgan Wilson, Ardyn Wilson, Avery Wilson, Jailen Kuhn, Markus Jackson, and Tristan Jackson. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Gary (Sharon) Kimmerle of Marceline, Missouri, and Richard (Becky) Kimmerle of Chino Valley, Arizona, 1 sister, Sandra (Larry) Hosford of Monticello, Iowa, and his special friend, Joan Williams of Oelwein, Iowa. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, James Kimmerle, William Kimmerle and Charles Kimmerle, and 1 daughter, Patty Kimmerle, in infancy. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Pastor Gary Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12th, at the funeral home. On line condolences may be left at www.White-MtHope.com.
