Jesup – Larry J. Jacobson, Sr. 84 years old of Jesup, IA and formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, October 16, 2021, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. – Sunday, October 24, 2021, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA.  Visitation will be for an hour before the services on Sunday.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Larry was born March 3, 1937, at West Union, IA, the son of Henry Jacobson and Delores (Sturm) Jacobson.  On September 19, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sandra Kay (Bartlett) Schmitt in Albert Lea, MN.  They later divorced.

Larry worked as a union iron worker for many years on buildings and bridges including the construction of the Gonda Building at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  He enjoyed the ocean, karaoke, his beloved dog, Shadow and fishing on the Mississippi river.

Larry is survived by three sons, Henry (Paulette) Jacobson of Dysart, Larry Jacobson, of Waterloo, Michael (Kellie) Jacobson of Cedar Rapids; one stepdaughter, Angie (Lee) Drinovsky; also 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  His parents and one infant son Leslie preceded him in death.
