They welcomed their 2nd child, Bryce Rigdon in June of 1997, and then welcomed their 3rd child, Cassidy Rigdon in August of 1998. Travis fulfilled his passion of coaching at Dunkerton High School from 1999 to 2014. He then decided to further his education at Iowa Western for 2 years, and then proceeded to graduate from Upper Iowa with a degree in Special Education. While attending college, he was also employed at Janesville School System where he was an associate. After graduating, he taught special education at Center Point Urbana middle school for one year. Travis’s biggest passions in life were spending time with his family, coaching, Iowa Football, Red Sox Baseball, listening to 80’s rock, and most recently spending time on their boat and at the trailer in Prairie du Chien, WI. Another important passion of Travis’s was to help people, no matter what the issue was, if he could help, he would definitely try. Travis is survived by his wife Cindi Rigdon of Dunkerton, his 3 children, Trevor Rigdon (Kayla Kremer) of Cedar Rapids, Bryce Ridgon of Dunkerton, IA and Cassidy Rigdon of Dunkerton, IA. His mother, Cheryl McGarvey Rigdon of Newhall, IA. His sister, Tracy Rigdon of Vanhorn, IA, two nieces, Taylor and Madison. Two brothers in law, Nathanial Aschbrenner (Christine Acosta) of Cabot, AR, and Steve Aschbrenner of Albia, IA. Two nephews, Jared (Lindsey) Aschbrenner of Beebee, AR, and Austin (Katie Little) Aschbrenner of The Colony, TX. His maternal Grandmother, Lois McGarvey of Waterloo, and many aunts and uncles, as well as cousins. Travis is preceded in death by his father Duane E Rigdon. His mother and father in law, Ronald and Kay Aschbrenner. His paternal grandparents, Russel and Harriet Rigdon. His maternal grandfather, Robert McGarvery, as well as several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 3pm to 7pm at White Funeral Home in Jesup, IA. There will be a vigil service following the visitation from 7pm to 8pm, also at White Funeral Home in Jesup, IA. All memorials will be directed to the family. |
