White Funeral Home Waterloo – Darlene J. Reuter, 86 years old of Waterloo, IA, died Sunday, December 20, 2020, at NorthCrest Specialty Care in Waterloo. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Monday, December 28, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, IA. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Raymond, IA. Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2020, at the White Funeral Home, 1315 Main Street, Jesup, IA, where there will be at rosary at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Monday at the church. Masks and social distancing will be required. Memorials may be directed to the family. Darlene was born April 18, 1934, at Rose Creek, MN, the daughter of Bernard “Ben” Bawek and Theresa (King) Bawek. She graduated from high school in Austin, Mn. On January 16, 1954, she was united in marriage to William Joseph Reuter, Jr. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Evansdale, IA. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2005. Darlene worked in the cafeteria at Cedar Falls schools, also was a cook at Sunny Side Country Club and had worked at Target. She was active in the AmVets in Evansdale and had served as president of the Auxiliary. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Waterloo. Darlene is survived by two daughters, Sherry Kinsel of Gilbertville, Vickie (Michael) Rainey of Elk Run Heights, IA; five sons, Craig Reuter of Waterloo, David (Robin) Reuter of Martinez, GA, Dean (Anita) Reuter of North Augusta, SC, Kevin Reuter of Waterloo, Doug (Elizabeth) Reuter of Hudson, IA; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Leo Bawek of Tennessee, Ronald (Elinor) Bawek of Harrington, DE; one sister, Janet (Glenn) Roberts-Valek of Austin, MN. In addition to her husband, her parents; 6 brothers, Gilbert, Eugene, Melvin, Robert, LaVerne, and Norbert Bawek; one sister, Renee Haney; and one son in law, Patrick Kinsel; preceded her in death. |
