Jesup – Karen M. Frost 76, years old of Jesup, IA, died Thursday, November 5, 2020, at her home in Jesup.

Services will be 3:00 p.m. – Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with Fr. Jeffrey A. Dole as Celebrant.

Visitation will be for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.  Masks will be required.  Memorials may be given to the Catholic Daughters or St. Athanasius Church in Jesup.

Karen was born September 28, 1944, in Long Branch, NJ, the daughter of Carl Arnold Edstrom and Ruth Eleanor (Nickelson) Edstrom.  She married the love of her life, Mathias Bernard Frost of Jesup in 1990.

A life spent in education, teaching kindergarten through seniors in high school.  She served as Principal of St. Athanasius in Jesup and then taught theology for 17 years at Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville.  She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Karen is survived by her beloved daughter Christine and son-in-law Troy Hassebrock of Blairsburg, IA; five grandchildren, Nicholas (Jennifer), Joshua (Karly), Kara (Chance), Caityln (Keagan) and Zachary; 7 great grandchildren, Skyler, Taylor, Harlan, Malia, Bryson, Amelia, and Brody; her step-children, Fr. Thomas, Sister Pat and Michael (Susan) Frost; also 2 step-grandchildren, Miriam and Matthew; one sister, Nancy (Woody) Boyd; three brothers, Paul (Donna) Edstrom, Joel (Peggy) Edstrom and Bruce (Margaret) Edstrom.  In addition to her husband, Bernard; her parents and two brothers, Carl “Chip” Edstrom and Tom Edstrom, preceded her in death.
