Cedar Falls – Judy Carol Burns, 79 years old of Cedar Falls, IA, died Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Manorcare Health Systems in Waterloo, IA. 

There will be no public services.  Judy’s cremated remains will be interred at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Masonville, IA.  Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Judy was born June 20, 1941, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Osten Zuber and Irene (Moyer) Zuber.  She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1959.  She continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA, and received major degrees in both Science and Music.  She then joined the Peace Corp and taught Science and Music in Mawile, Africa for two years.  Upon leaving the Peace Corp, she continued teaching in Africa for another four years before returning to the United States.  On February 22, 1974, she was united in marriage to William Joseph Burns at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup, IA.  Judy worked 36 years at American Color Imaging in Cedar Falls, IA, before retirement.  She was an accomplished musician and played various instruments including; piano; accordion; violin and cello.

Judy is survived by her husband, William Burns of Cedar Falls, IA.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
