White Funeral Home Dunkerton – Harold Eugene Brown, 84 years old of Dunkerton, IA, died Sunday, May 17, 2020, at his home following a lengthy illness. Due to federal, state and local guidance on gatherings because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the family will have a private family visitation on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the White Funeral Home, 1315 Main Street, Jesup, IA.
With safety for all in mind, but still share Harold with extended family and friends, the family encourages you to drive through the funeral home driveway to view and say goodbye to Harold, through the bay window. This will be available between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19th with the family present in their cars. Please be ready with your names on a piece of paper for collection. A collection site for cards will be provided as well. Stay safe, in your cars and observe the social distancing mandates. There will be a Graveside service for Harold, 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, May 20th at Fairview Cemetery in Dunkerton and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Harold was born August 7, 1935, in Ft. Dodge, IA, the son of Ernest Brown and Hazel (Pulley) Brown. On July 10, 1971, he was united in marriage to Mary Louise Trierweiler in Cornell, IA. They made there home in Dunkerton and Harold was employed by Hawkeye Sheet Metal in Waterloo. He retired in 2005. Mary preceded him in death on November 27, 2005. Harold enjoyed traveling, going on bus trips regularly and visiting Deadwood, SD.
Harold is survived by one son, Channing Brown of Dunkerton. In addition to his wife, Mary; he is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Merle Brown and one sister, Evelyn Clarken |
