White Funeral Home Jesup – Daryl Dean Rachuy, 76 years old of Jesup, IA, died from cancer Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at his home in Jesup. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. – Friday, November 22, 2019, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21st at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA. The family will also receive friends before services Friday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Daryl was born March 17, 1943, in Independence, IA, the son of Allen Fredrick Rachuy and Mary Maxine (Clime) Rachuy. He attended school in Jesup and graduated with the class of 1961. He then continued his education at Parsons College in Fairfield, IA, for two years. While in school Daryl was an exceptional student athlete and excelled in basketball. He held scoring records in basketball at Jesup for over 30 years and continued his basketball career while in college. On December 22, 1962, Daryl was united in marriage to Janet Kay Scheel in Garrison, IA. They made their home and raised their family in Jesup while Daryl worked at John Deere in Waterloo. He retired as a supervisor from John Deere in 2001 after 37 years of service. He and Jan enjoyed Florida and even made their home in Port Orange, FL, for five years, before returning to Jesup just three and a half years ago. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Jesup. Daryl is survived by his wife, Jan Rachuy of Jesup; one son, Kendall (Becky) Rachuy of Sioux Rapids, IA; three daughters, Kelly (Rob) Barnett of Independence, Dena (Kipp) Oertle of Shawnee, KS, Shawna (Chris) White of Lenexa, KS, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; also a daughter-in-law, Tina Rachuy of Little Lake, MI. One son, Brad Rachuy; one brother, Larry Rachuy and his parents, preceded him in death. |
