Jesup – Paul Benedict Kremer, 98 years old of Independence, IA, formerly of Jesup, IA, died Monday, August 19, 2019, at Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Independence.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday August 23, 2019, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA with Fr. Jeffrey A. Dole and Fr. John R. Kremer as concelebrants.  Visitation will be at the church for an hour before services, Friday.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Paul Benedick Kremer was born April 3, 1921, in Black Hawk County, Iowa the son of John W. Kremer and Susan (Niesen) Kremer.  On September 29, 1943, he was united in marriage to Marcella Catherine Frost at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raymond, IA.  Paul was a retired farmer and a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup.

Paul is survived by two daughters, Sally (Alfred) Meixner of Panora, IA, Phyllis (Ken) Filreis of Bloomington, MN; one grand- daughter, Amanda Filreis; and one brother, Rev. John R. Kremer of Delhi, IA.

His parents; wife Marcella; one daughter, Paulette Koontz; two brothers, Cletus and Jim Kremer; and two sisters, Alice Hennessy and Mary Schubert preceded him in death.
