Gilbertville – Ronald Andrew Conrad, 62 years old, of Elk Run Heights, died of an apparent heart attack, Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at UnityPoint - Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. - Friday, May 31, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, IA. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Raymond, IA. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Ronald was born August 2, 1956, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Richard William Conrad and Jacqueline Jeanette (Thomson) Conrad. Ron went to school in Waterloo, and then he continued his education in South Dakota, where he trained to be a welder. He was employed by Black Hawk Welding in Waterloo, until his health forced him to retire in the early 2000’s.

Ron liked to work on race cars with his friends, and he loved to fish.

Ron is survived by 1 sister, Shelly (Gary) Delagardelle of Waterloo, IA; 3 brothers, John (Karen) Conrad of Waterloo, IA, Roger Conrad of Raymond, IA, Alan Conrad of Dallas, TX. He’s also survived by his nieces & nephews; and great nieces & great nephews. Ron’s parents and 1 sister, Rita Metzger preceded him in death.
