Jesup – Danny Lynn Nagel, 58 years old of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, May 5, 2019, at his home.

Services will be 11:00 am – Friday May 10, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church, Jesup, IA, with burial at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup.  Military rites will be conducted by Pump-Scheer American Legion Post 342 of Jesup.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Thursday, May 9^th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Danny was born May 27, 1960, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Paul Arthur Nagel and Marlys Joan (Mensink) Nagel.  He graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1979, after which he served in the US Navy for 8 years.  He was employed by Deere and Co. in Waterloo on the assembly line and was a member of UAW Local 838.  On January 20, 2004, he was united in marriage to Angela Kay Hilgerson in Waterloo.  They later divorced.

Danny is survived by one daughter, Jessica Nagel of Jesup; one son, Andrew Nagel of West Union, IA; his mother, Marlys Nagel of Jesup; two brothers, Terry (Colleen) Nagel of Jesup, Chris (Barbara) Nagel of Grinnell, IA; two sisters, Cindy Schmit of Jesup, Ann (Greg) Becker of Jesup.

His father, Paul and a brother-in-law, Earl Schmit, preceded him in death.
