White Funeral Home Jesup – Dennis Dean Kayser, 59 years old, of Jesup, IA, died, Thursday, April 11, 2019, at his home in Jesup, following a long battle with brain cancer. Dennis was born September 10, 1959, in Independence, IA, the son of Anthony Joseph Kayser and Germain Catherine (Steils) Kayser. He graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1977. On April 3, 1982 he and Lisa Kay Schmitz were united in marriage at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, IA. Dennis worked in construction for a number of years until 1988 when he and Lisa opened their spray foam business, Arctic Seal. “Life is Good” - Dennis liked to be with his friends while hunting, ice fishing, and playing volleyball; he enjoyed watching his girls play sports; and he loved to be with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Hook ‘n’ Liner Sportsman Club. Dennis is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lisa Kayser of Jesup, IA; 3 daughters, Kristi (Ryan) Bear of Summerville, SC, Brittney (Jimmy) Hughes of Robins, IA, Stacey (Jordan) Conrad of Jesup, IA; 4 grandchildren, Laken Bear, Harper Bear, Hayden Hughes, Bryson Conrad; 3 brothers, Dan (Teresa) Kayser of Waterloo, IA, Gary Kayser of Jesup, IA, Kenny (Annette) Kayser of Denton, TX; 3 sisters, Linda (Scott Morris) Kayser of Raymond, IA, Karen (Rick) Kayser-Kemp of Tripoli, IA, Sharon Kayser of Marion, IA; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Kayser; mother, Germain Decker; step-father, Charles “Chuck” Decker, and 1 brother-in-law, Darrell Schmitz. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. – Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with Fr. Jeffrey A. Dole, celebrant. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 15th at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before the service, Monday, at the church. Memorials will be directed to the church and Cedar Valley Hospice. White Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
