White Funeral Home Jesup – Clarice Arlene Troyer, 79 years old of Madrid, IA, and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, March 31, 2019, at the Madrid Home, Madrid, IA, of natural causes. Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, April 4, 2019, at the Cedar Falls Mennonite Church, meeting at First Presbyterian Church, 902 Main Street, Cedar Falls, IA, with Pastor Susan Janzen officiating. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Gene Roth, Don Roth, Auston Troyer, Alex Troyer, Brady Troyer, Kaleb Troyer, and Cameron Troyer. Inurnment will be 1:30 p.m. – Thursday at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, IA. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 3rd, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and before services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church or family. Clarice was born March 22, 1940, in Wisner, NE, the daughter of Sam Roth and Clara (Nitzsche) Roth. After her primary education she received a degree in education from Hesston College, Hesston, Kansas. On August 10, 1963, Clarice was united in marriage to Harold Allen Troyer in Beemer, NE. They made their home in Arizona teaching on the Navajo Indian Reservation before moving back to Nebraska, and finally settling in Manson, Iowa, where they raised their three sons and Clarice was a preschool teacher for many years. In 2007, Harold and Clarice moved to Jesup, to be closer to their beloved family. Clarice is survived by three sons, Bruce Troyer (Tricia Reinhardt) of Dyersville, IA, Steve (Amie) Troyer of Madrid, IA, and Kyle (Jaime) Troyer of Independence, IA; 10 grandchildren, Auston Troyer, Alex Troyer, Malia Troyer, Brady Troyer, Erica Miller, Kaleb Troyer, Loren Troyer, Cameron Troyer, Ava Troyer, and Madelyn Troyer; two brothers, Gene (Barbara) Roth of Lincoln, NE, Don Roth of Arizona; one sister, Maxine (Bill Roth) Roth of West Point, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Harold. To Clarice, faith and family were very important. She was a loving mother and grandmother. |
