Independence – Patricia A. Zerba, 83 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point, Iowa.  She was born on May 4, 1935, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Earl Leonard and Nellie Grace (Hanks) Tyler.  She graduated from high school in Quasqueton, Iowa, with the Class of 1954.  On May 25, 1954, she and Lawrence Guy Zerba were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence.  He preceded her in death in 2017.  Mrs. Zerba cared for her family wherever they lived and enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Mrs. Zerba is survived by 1 daughter, Nellie (Robert) Harn of Oelwein, Iowa, 1 son, Larry Zerba, Jr., of Australia, 2 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Petty Fry of Ames, Iowa, and Dixie (John) Eschen of Independence, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, and 5 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019, at the White Funeral Home in Independence .  Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.  Friends may call for visitation from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3^rd, at the funeral home.
