After returning from the war, he farmed for 11 years and then began working for several area implement dealers. He was the service manager for West Side Implement in Independence for 18 years before retiring in 1986. Mr. Hare was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Independence and Bechter-Boies V.F.W. Post #2440 in Independence. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and wood working. Mr. Hare is survived by 1 daughter, Sharon (Bud) Conrad of Independence, 1 daughter-in-law, Pat Hare of Cortez, Colorado, 6 grandchildren, Dana (Aron) Yarbrough, Kevin (Krystal) Hare, and Gretchen (Jason) Bonnette, all of Amarillo, Texas, Jeff (Jodie) Behan of Bettendorf, Iowa, Susan Behan of Independence, and Cynthia (Mark) Nodland of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 7 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 13 step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Larry Hare, 1 great granddaughter, Emilie Yarbrough, 6 brothers, Raymond Hare, Carl Hare, Lewis Hare, Everett Hare, Jim Hare, and Ed Hare, and 2 sisters, Clara Stock and Viola Caldwell.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Pastor Lance Fricke officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9th, at the White Funeral Home in Independence where a Military Service begins at 4:30 p.m. |
