Independence – Colleen I. Roscovius, 91 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at ABCM Rehab. Center Independence – West Campus in Independence. She was born on March 5, 1927, in Kendall, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lloyd and Evelyn Irma (Matthews) Berg. She graduated from high school in Kendall, Wisconsin. On April 2, 1948, she and LaVern Frederick Roscovius were married in Tomah, Wisconsin. They later divorced. Mrs. Roscovius was an Avon Lady, selling cosmetics for many years. She was also a spot welder at Geater Machining in Independence, and she was a cook at the Station House Restaurant in Independence. She retired in 2010. For 40 years she was a league bowler in Independence. She also enjoyed reading novels and dancing, and she was a huge Chicago Cubs fan. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence.
Mrs. Roscovius is survived by 3 sons, Dave (Jan) Roscovius of Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and Bruce Roscovius and Gary (Sue) Roscovius, both of Independence, 1 daughter, Barbara Lake of Independence, 12 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 1 brother, Darrel Berg of Boise, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and 1 granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Greg DeBoer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 18th, at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
