Jesup – Janice Mae Bohling, 80 years old of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, November 4, 2018, at her home.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, November 9, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday November 8^th also at the First United Methodist Church and visitation will continue for an hour before services Friday at the church.  Memorials will be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Janice was born July 15, 1938, near Jesup, the daughter of Clifford William Comfort and Thelma Rose (Clime) Comfort.  She graduated from Jesup High School in 1956.  On April 20, 1958, she was united in marriage to Larry Lee Bohling at the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.  Except for a short time after their marriage Larry and Janice lived in Jesup.  Janice worked 20 years at Schares Grocery Store, and also over 20 years at the Buchanan County Courthouse in the Clerk of Court office.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.

Mrs. Bohling is survived by one son James (Shyann) Bohling of Jesup; three grandchildren, Devin (Becky) Bohling, Megan Bohling and Mason Bohling; two great granddaughters, Riley and Hailey Bohling; one sister, Jane (Ronald) Harting of La Porte City, IA; and a special friend, Richard Ortner of Jesup.  Her parents, and husband Larry, preceded her in death.
