White Funeral Home Jesup – Esther Julia Weber, 90 years old of Jesup, Iowa, died Saturday, October 27, 2018, at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday October 30th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where there will be a Catholic Daughter Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials will be directed to St. Athanasius Catholic Church and School in Jesup. Esther was born June 20, 1928, in Black Hawk County, Iowa near Gilbertville, the daughter of Peter William Schares and Mary Catherine (Schmitz) Schares. She was united in marriage to Melvin Patrick Weber, September 24, 1947, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville. Esther is survived by her husband, Melvin of Jesup; seven sons, Gary O. (Marge) Weber of Jesup, Peter (Lois) Weber of Evansdale, Michael (Peggy) Weber of Jesup, David (Karen) Weber of Waterloo, Melvin E. Weber of San Diego, CA, Irvin (Jane) Weber of Jesup, Elmer (Valerie) Weber of Jesup; three daughters, Donna (Irvin) Delagardelle of Jesup, Karen (David) Even of Jesup, Theresa (Jim) Bovy of Waterloo; 28 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Joblinske of Jesup and one sister in law, Margo Schares of Denver, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Mark Delagardelle; four brothers, Cleo (in infancy), Cletus, Melvin, and Laverne Schares; four sisters, Mildred Schmit, Magdalen Frost, Teresa Schares and Rosemary Circus. |
